Immunology course includes description of the components of the Immune system and their functions, concepts of Immunity and immune response, altered immune responses like hypersensitivity and autoimmunity. It also includes concepts of cancer immunology, transplant immunology and immunodeficiency.

  • Describe and evaluate the immune system and its components and their mode of action in defence mechanism aiding in understanding different infectious and non-infectious diseases.
  • Infer different immunological diagnostics tests, their principle and interpretation aiding in detection of the underlining cause of the diseases.
  • Correlate immunological defects like, Auto immunity and hypersensitivity, their prevention strategies, management and treatment.

Course Overview

Molecular technique course essentially comprises on the study of the deliberate modification of an organism's basic characteristics by manipulating its genetic material and other relevant techniques.

  • Educate basic philosophical and ethical considerations regarding genetic data, genetic manipulation and Biosafety issues.

Course Overview

The course of genomics and molecular biology includes understanding of DNA, RNA and protein molecule’s structure and variations. The course pays attention in understanding the minute events associated with central dogma of life starting from DNA being replicated to transcribed and ultimately translated. The Post transcriptional and post translational events are discussed in dept. The course also touches upon about mutation, mutagens and repair mechanisms.
