Adtu conducts
workshop on Nanotechnology in hybrid mode
The Centre of Excellence in Nanotechnology at Assam down town University
has successfully conducted a one-week workshop on Nanotechnology titled “Exploring Nano-
2021”. The workshop was conducted in hybrid mode with online and physical lectures by
prominent scientists from different institutes of India and abroad. The speakers include
Prof. Louis Hornyak from Asian institute of Technology, Prof. Somobrata Acharya from Indian
Association for Cultivation of Science, Prof. Utpal Bora from Indian Institute of Technology
Guwahati, Dr. Indrani Dakua from Assam Don Bosco University, Dr. Rashi Borgohain from Assam
Engineering College, Dr. Bimal Sarma from Gauhati University, Prof. Hasan Mujtaba Jafri from
Mirpur University, Dr. Ajay Das from Arya Vidyapeeth College. One whole day of the workshop
was dedicated to the laboratory sessions where participants were taught how to synthesize
and characterize nanomaterials. The participants were also introduced to different software
tools used for nanomaterial characterization. The participants from different part of
North-East India participated in the workshop. All the participants gave positive feedback
of the workshop and requested that similar workshops should be organized in the future. The
workshop was convened by Prof. Sunandan Baruah, Director of the CoEN and Dean, Faculty of
Engineering and Technology.
