Libraries have experienced incredible change over the years with the advancements in
information technology. In the present-daydigital era of information explosion, University
libraries need to keep themselves updated with the information and communication technologies
ensuring easy access to the ICT integrated information by the faculty members, researchers and
students.
I feel extremely proud toobserve that the HNDB library at Assam down town University is
gradually transforming into a state-of-the-art library to meet the knowledge needs of its
students and faculty members. The library is playing an instrumental role in providing a
repository of valuable books and information. The HNDB library is also preserving age old
manuscripts and has taken initiatives to provide access to books from various countries by
setting up centres of learning, the first being the Bangabandhu Centre from Bangladesh.
I want to thank the HNDB Library team for offering dedicated services to help students make
full use of their potential and harness their best inner resources, by offering a wide spectrum
of assistance for research and teaching to the AdtU faculty as well as providing a storehouse of
knowledge for our doctoral research scholars. HNDB library would like to be a part of their
journey to achieve their academic goals and be part of a culture of lifelong learning.
I am happy to see that the students of AdtU are spending time in the HNDB library to quench
their thirst for knowledge. As Albert Einstein rightly said “The only thing that you absolutely
have to know, is the location of the library
