National Seminar on The Scope of Hospitality & Tourism International, Domestic and Strategies for Future Business Post Covid 19 Scenario

 A one day National Seminar on "The Scope of Hospitality & Tourism : International , Domestic and Strategies for Future Business (Post Covid 19 Scenario ) " was successfully conducted by the Faculty of Commerce, Management , Humanities and Social Sciences ,under Assam down town University on Sunday, dated 21.06.2020. Hosted by the Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management, the National Seminar looked to address many issues encompassing the scope of the greater Tourism and Hospitality Fraternity and its related industries and domains. It was also verbalized in the Seminar about the sustainable development of factual roles and goals, the Challenges and Resilience, the strategies for future business , Implemention of new global policy responses and their overall impact upon the Tourism  & Hospitality sector. Prior to all those issues, while delivering his worthy lecture ,The Chief guest  Mr. Suneel Rawat ,General Manager ,Business Development at Clarks Inn Group of Hotels deliberated upon the recent Covid 19 Pandemic ,that is causing global disruption and disturbance worldwide . Hotel distribution has become increasingly complicated for the hoteliers to manage their businesses and the performance rate that has really fallen into a real time low. He suggested that new and meticulous planning for the meagre scenarios we may face in the upcoming months and years ahead will ultimately determine the path forward for the survival, existence, sustenance and resuscitation of our tourism industry.  Another three renowned speakers from Tourism and Hospitality Mr . Chandan Nath -Founder Owner of CN Travels,(Guwahati ) and Vice-president of TOAA ,Mr . Nishant Munshi-General Manager (HR & Training) The Chocolate Room Pvt. Ltd , Mr . Amit Samson -Owner DivineKross Design & Hospitality Services were also part of the substaintial seminar . In their Rhetorics and Speeches embellished with Pragmatic, Prudent and Realistic views, they  spoke on the losses of service industries which  are realized with the buffeting issues , with the problem persisting and expected to continue over the next several months during the pandemics . At Last , all of them agreed with the solution that tourism and hospitality marketing should not only be the mission and vision ,but also the sole focus of immediate recovery and capacity building strategies . The Travel and Tourism Industries would be the worst affected and we all together should remain ever prepared by sharing and exchanging  words  of solution, fellow feeling , rapport building  and all of these things are going to be the best possible Tonic or Elixir for gradual Revival  . The first thing is survival, only then there can be a revival for the Tourism and Hospitality Industry . The Convenor Ms. Banani Saikia , Assistant Professor Cum SPOC , Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management presided over the function and welcomed the gathering .  Dr. Bhola Chourasia ,HOD , Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management , offered the felicitation speech.  Chief Patron Hon'rble Dr.N.N Dutta , Chancellor(Adtu) ,  Co - Patron Dr. Amarjyoti Choudhary-Vice Chancellor(Adtu) ,Dean of studies cum Professor  Bandana Dutta ,  Dr . Seema Sharma-Dean ,Faculty of CMHSS (Adtu), Additional Registrar Ashim Barman , Associate Professor Cum Programme Coordinator  of Travel and Tourism Dr. Syed Sajidul Islam , Assistant Professor cum Placement coordinator Jyotirmay Choudhary , Assistant Professor Ritwick Goswami , Assistant Professor Mridu Pawan Rabha and many others distinguised speakers from hospitality and tourism industries were present in the Seminar . The seminar highlighted mainly about the opportunities in Non-Hospitality sectors where Hospitality professionals can add value like entertainment, reality and E-Commerce etc during this tough time in the Tourism industries .

Over 400 Hospitality Experts, Teachers, Educationists and students from different parts of the states participated in the National Seminar.
