2nd National Conference - Empowering Nursing Education through Nursing Research

Sankar Madhab College of Nursing, (a unit of down town Charity Trust) have the immense pleasure to announce that, it has organized its 2nd National Conference on the theme, “Empowering Nursing Education through Nursing Research” held on 10th January, 2018, at Assam down town University campus, Panikhaiti, Assam.

Ms. Sujata Angela Singh, Senior Nursing Educator, Fortis Health Care Limited, Kolkata West Bengal, Mrs. Kasturi Dutta, Chief Matron, NF Railway Central Hospital, Maligaon, Guwahati and Mrs. Ruma Talukdar, Associate Professor Cotton University Guwahati, were  the resource persons for the conference. The aim of the conference is to collate information upgrade and enhance the quality of education for professional nurses and students seeking to use research and evidenced based practice. Attendees are sure to garner a renewed appreciation for nursing research and a new found sense of confidence in their ability to conduct their own nursing research.


The targeted audiences were the Nurse Administrators, Ward In-charges, Staff Nurses, Faculties, B.Sc and   M.Sc Nursing students. A total number of 53 (fifty three) delegates from various regions, institutes and hospitals attended the conference i.e. From Regional College Of Nursing, Arya College Of Nursing, Army college of nursing , Tezpur Mission Medical college, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong, Meghalaya ,International School of nursing, Christian Institute Of Health Science And Research Nagaland, Rahman Hospital. Delegates from various institutes have also participated in paper and poster presentations.


The conference was a grand success as it has focused on the key aspect of the conference i.e. to encourage the nursing personnels to take active part in evidence based research activities so as to improve the scope and quality care in nursing and also to address the challenges in the nursing field.
