Master of Science in Biotechnology

Biotechnology is the research-oriented science including a fusion of biology and technology. M.Sc. Biotechnology is a four semester program to impart in-depth knowledge of molecular cell biology, computational biology and their applications. The curriculum covers courses in thermodynamics, spectroscopy, enzymology, metabolism, genetics, cell biology, analytical biochemistry and microbiology, molecular biology, genetic engineering, immunology, molecular biophysics and bioinformatics, together with relevant laboratory programs, and a research project leading to a dissertation. There is a great scope for the biotechnology students mainly include are: Research & Development, Various Projects, Analysis & Testing, Various laboratories, Drug designing, Marketing, Academics, Consultancy & also opportunities in abroad.

Scope : Scope of biotechnology includes various areas from-genetic engineering, Gene Therapy, Immunotechnologies, pharmaceutical industries, issue culture, stem cell techniques, Enzyme engineering and technology, new DNA technologies, organ transplantation, new drug-delivery systems, production of useful materials, production of new materials using new ideas, DNA vaccines, Biosensor. It also helps in exploiting microorganisms which includes use of microbes for Bioinformation , Processing of low-grade ores using microorganisms, Bioinformati , including genomics and proteomics, Nanobiotechnology, Biological warfare and many more.
 

Post Graduate Program Duration Eligibility Criteria
Master of Science in Biotechnology 2 years (4 Semesters) Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology,
Biochemistry, Life sciences and related subjects with
50% marks from a recognized university

(5% relaxation for ST/SC)
